I mean is vegetarian food both halal and kasher?

As far as I know Halal isn't necessarily Kosher, just like Kosher food might not be Halal (Am I wrong?)... That's why I considered vegetarian food: it makes the planning easier!

Vegetarian food are Halal for Muslims. Jews don't have any problem with vegetarian food.

Kosher is Halal.

yes and if you buy halal meet that would be ok for Muslims also,some stores sell them

why not ask them...it's "your" party.
I think it's what you serve with the vegetarian food that they may object to.
