When men work with women in the workplace, does it help a woman successfully gain support of a project or be more successful when negotiating, if she is beautiful/pretty? Do men pay more attention to her and her needs or requests for support?

There was a report done that i had the privilege to read. The report was 4 people went into a hardware store to get detailed help for a job that was to be done on their house. Now all 4 basically had the same job to do. The 1st was a minority male. The 2ND was a heavy woman, The 3rd was an average male, and the 4th was a woman that does modeling for a catalog. Out of the 4, the last woman was given the most detailed instructions. She was in the store more than an hour longer than anyone else, and she had the most help. Unfortunately, we do live in a society that looks at the package instead of the contents. All these people were in their mid 20's. The minority was a captain on a police force, the heavy set woman was a co-CEO of a fortune 500 company, the average male was an engineer, and the model, well, she was a model. All had fun with the project, but all were also disappointed in the result. This is also disturbing for someone will let looks get in the way of intelligence. Maybe, someday, this kind of profiling will end and people will have to prove themselves worthy of a promotion or whatever, instead of who's prettier.

Well, it doesn't hurt. No matter how unbiased a guy tries to be, those hormones have some effect.

But that isn't the whole picture. The woman can be centerfold-beautiful, but if she's bitchy, combative or tries to throw her weight around (if she has any authority), she's only going to make enemies. And that's not gender related.

I guess I've been fortunate. Not all the women I've worked with have been attractive, but they've mostly been respected for what they bring to the team.

Hi,,, i am not going to say that a pretty woman does not get attention over a not so pretty woman in any place work or not.. but,,,,
The women i work with,, are very competent and competitive, so we pay attention to what they ask for, no matter what they look like....
good luck

the first impression ofcourse is made if you are pretty. more so if you are generously endowed, in which case the other party, male, will be too lost elsewhere to look at your face and pay attention to the negotiations.

Its men's nature to be perverts, no matter who or where they are from... so yes.. beautiful women do get extra attention... but consider one thing.... you get rude to a guy once... and BOOM... no matter how good he was to you... he ll make you feel bad someday... so be careful while accepting help from everyone

Reverse the question and ask if women help a man out more because he is hot.
