he lied to you maybe because he was cheating on you or just didnt wan to see you for some reason

and you're asking us? If he lied about that he will lie about a lot of other things. He obviously has no respect for you or your relationship. It is really best to let him go his own way then he doesn't have to lie anymore. The " I lied because you would be upset with me if I told you the truth " just doesn't cut it. He's acting like a 10 yr old that wants to be able to do something he wants to do.
