like i don't get it what does it mean and how? like when 2 people like eachother

Because you cant stand someone who is just like you. You see all the faults of yourself in that person. So really you just cant get along with yourself. You'll be constantly fighting if so. That is why opposites do NOT attract!

If you don't like yourself, I'm sure you wouldn't like someone like you and would prefer your opposite. Personally, I like myself, I have a lot in common with my girlfriend and that's one of the reasons I love her so much. I've been with someone in the past who was very different from me and I couldn't stand it after only a few weeks.
Opposites do attract if you're talking about magnetism and polarity. Other than that... well, to each his own, I guess.

They says this, because you can learn from each other. What one doesn't the other probably does. For example: my husband does fencing and landscaping. He can build or create almost anything. I like to cook, draw (which drawing can help him sometimes come up with something for him to build), and I like to solve puzzles (which can help him put an find that odd peice that he is not sure of what do with). His job looks easy when people see him do it , but it isn't. My job/interests look hard when somone wacthes me do it, but actually it is very easy.

For example: My husband was (now deceased) Jewish and a democrat. I am Christian and a Republican. We were opposite both politically and religiously, yet we had a wonderful relationship. Largely due to the fact that we respected each other's right to our beliefs and we didn't try to change each other.

sometimes 2 people are complete opposites and that's what attracts them to one another - I believe it's because they are so different that it makes them so interested in one another because they are sooo compelled by what they aren't into or what not - there's some truth to it too, atleast in my case
