I had been using Outlook Express. In that if we go to view -> Layout there were can select 'Contacts' and the contact list appears on the left side.

Now I've just changed to microsoft outlook and I want to make Outlook look like the same way as my express, i mean like folder list here, contacts there and all that.

I want the contact list to appear on the same side. I went to the View menu but there was no layout button. I have gone to microsoft help and typed 'Contact list' but im not getting an appropriate answer.

Can you pls tell me how to get the contact list in place of the folder list that is displayed?? Thnx in advance!

When you opened Microsoft Outlook, the mail folder list should be showing on the left side. Below that is some buttons; Mail, Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, etc. Just click on the Contacts button and your contact list should display above the buttons. Then you would just click on the Mail button to get back to your folders.

Below the buttons are icons for notes, folder list, shortcuts, and configure buttons. If you click on the configure buttons icon you can change what buttons display as well as the order the buttons appear.

MS always makes things as inconsistent, difficult, and painful as possible.

Sorry I can't help.
