you can cut up some small diced potatoes and cook them with the beans the beans will be over done...add also shredded carrot and some chopped tomatoes dice up yourr ham and you have bean soup....which is a lot better than trashing it...the item i said to add will help remove some of the salt depending on how is to much added....been there and did it......it could have come from your ham being salty and then you added salt that occurs a lot in reciepes as people follow them exactly not adjusting for different things...

I make bean with ham soup every year, after everyone is done pulling pieces off the Christmas ham. Take all of it Bone left over meat. I boil some of the salt away dis guard first broth start over again with the bone. My second batch of broth is just right. Ham is very salty as most cured meats are. My grandma always said. Gotta salt it down. With your second broth cook about 2 hours, take the bone out. Make soup!

Pour out some of the salty liquid and replace with clean, cool water. You can also place a peeled, raw potatoe in the stoup to absorb more of the salt, and prevent gas from the beans.

Originally I added to much liquid so I removed some and saved it. When I discovered it was too salty, I removed the salty broth and replaced it with the broth that didn't have a chance to become salty, and I added shoestring carrots !

You can add some more beans, or potatoes, or carrots. The idea is to add something kinda starchy to absorb some of the salt.

If you like tomatoes you can chop up a bunch of tomatoes and it will dilute the mixture and make for a tasty combination too.
