My parents obtained the bottle mfrom my mother's mother, it has a yellow and green label Marnier - Lapostolle, the bottle is full but even when you hold it upside down with the cap off, nothing comes out. Ever had a similiar problem?and what did you do to rectify it?

Since all of the alcohol has evaporated and evidently the water in the spirit as well..... DO NOT CONSUME ANYTHING that comes out of that bottle. It is old, solid sugar and bacteria/mold. If you wish to clean the bottle, try warming it in a water bath on low heat, you may wish to protect the label somehow with plastic wrap or a ziploc bag.

I repeat DO NOT CONSUME ANYTHING, YOU WILL GET SICK

Probably could put it into the microwave for a few seconds. Be sure to take off the lid or cap, otherwise it would explode. Don't leave it in for long. If it is an old bottle it might be fragile.

This works for honey.

I would try 30-40 seconds first to see what happens. If it appears to be dissolving it than go for a little more time, but only in small doses. Eventually perhaps you'll be able to liquify the whole bottle. Don't forget to cool before drinking!

Why do you want to re-liquify it? All you have left are sugars, flavor solids and maybe some bacteria. All the alcohol is long gone if the stuff is that thick. If you just want to clean out the bottle do a few rinses with warm\hot water with a little vinegar or lemon juice. Take care not to get the label wet. What color is the glass?

Okay,he said rectify. I guess that answer was obvious. I'd put it in a pot of water on low heat. it might work.
