Can a social security statement do. He lived at home, my grandparents are deceased. There was a factory where he used to work which is closed. HELP. What kind of records can I send them.??

If you don't have his old tax returns any more, a Social Security statement should help - it will show that he was employed in the US for those years. Also notarized statements by friends and neighbors who knew him at that time and knew that he was in the US can be presented. Although the factory is closed, its employment records are somewhere; can you find anyone who worked in the office who will know where the records are? Good luck!

Copy's of tax filed and utilities in his name for the past two years or employment records for the past two years.

have you tried the state department at travel.state.gov or called them at 1-877-487-2778. they are the final authority and if you have a letter from them and need clarification, they would be the ones to call. if that does not work, you might see if your senator or congressman's office might help.

Taxes, driver's license, health card or as you said, social security.
Send them a copy (or tale the originals with you) of EVERYTHING.
