How about: Religion is flawed humankind's idea of what a relationship with God should be and not God's idea. God is always blamed for religion's misdeeds.

Oh! After a protracted time I have been given this question ultimately! sure! And sure! it rather is the 'faith' in trouble-free terms, that makes us experience that it is the enemy of God certainly! So smart question! If there have been no distinctive religions, then i think of, there have been no communal clashes ever! it rather is the religions in trouble-free terms that has replace into the super enemy of the God...er...I mean, Bhagwan, God, Allah and so on. Even this might stop the way of being an Atheist, like me!

I disagree that religion is the enemy of God. Religion is how we learn about God. Religion also lets us "stand on the shoulders of Giants." By that I mean as the people before us figure stuff out, we can learn from them, and thus "see farther".
to take up andymjc's point, "a vast edifice of dogma that stands between believers and a true understanding of God," I would say it stands between believers and a FALSE understanding of God. That is why dogma was defined, because there were false ideas about God being put forward.
Certainly I agree that religion can be misused, as when it is used to justify wars, killing, terrorism, etc. But don't throw out the baby with the bathwater.

Religion: A revised procedure of life that change with the change of life style & life needs.
Example: In Christianity you can not Marry more than one
In Islam you can marry more than one
This was because Females number became Double comparing to Males due to Wars.

Religion is a double edged sword-the means to spiritual growth or a vast edifice of dogma that stands between believers and a true understanding of God. What you put into it is what you get out of it.

ima have to agree. i dont really think god is giong to send people to hell cause they dont label themselves as christians. i think you just need to lead a good moral life. (if god was really just/forgiving/merciful/loving, then why would he send someone to hell jsut because they dont call themselves christians even though they live a life christlike- whereas murderers, rapists, child molesters will go to heaven cause they "repented" doesnt soudn very just, i dont think any real judge would let murders/rapists/child molesters go because they said "sorry i will never do it again.."
