I have recently been going to the Kingdom Hall for Jehovah's Witnesses and I really enjoyed studying with them but the problem is that in order to be baptised you have to do so many things and I do not agree with all the things they do..for instance in thier version on the bible they rearranged and changed scriptures. And the bible is a holy book, you arent allowed to change or rearrange anything in it, it prohibits that. I was baptised as a christian 10 years ago and they say only get baptised once but the witnesses say your not baptised until they baptize you properly...I am so confused and I feel terrible for having to choose...can someone please help.

Clearly, this questioner is not qualified for baptism into the true Christian congregation. Until he makes significantly more progress, he should certainly not consider baptism as a Jehovah's Witness.

Becoming baptized into the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses is not a trivial step. At a minimum, a student must demonstrate months of regular meeting attendance and public ministry, then must himself express the desire to be baptized. The candidate then spends hours answering hundreds of bible questions wherein he expresses both a clear understanding and personal conviction regarding Jehovah's Witness teachings in at least three separate interviews with three different elders. The candidate must vocally agree to be baptized in front of hundreds or thousands of eyewitnesses, and must be publicly immersed in water. This is not a momentary emotional decision by an unreasoning child. Dedication as a Witness requires hard work and determination.

A baptism candidate must also refrain from slandering the congregation. Despite the lies of this so-called "question", Jehovah's Witnesses actually use dozens of different bible translations, and do not ascribe any particular infallibility or inspiration to their New World Translation. Jehovah's Witnesses have certainly *NOT* rearranged and/or changed any Scripture, as any fairminded person can determine for himself. That bible is freely available from Jehovah's Witnesses, and immediately via their official website:

I'm one of JWs. I have the same concern way back when I was still studying. I've attended other so called "Christian" meetings and compared those to JWs. I can tell you that JWs have the truth, or you'll say closest to the truth. Regarding the Bible translation, you can check the Greek and Hebrew translations, use for example, Strong's dictionary and compared to the English translation of the NWT and you'll be surprised how accurate their translation is. JWs do not change the Bible, look at the history on how it was translated and which Greek and Hebrew scrolls they used/based the NWT from. Regarding baptism, in other churches, baptism is not full immersion, others are baptized on a Trinitarian God, others in some savior. True Christians are baptized recognizing that Jesus is the God-sent savior, the Messiah and Son of God and not part of a Trinity, that the Father of Jesus is Jehovah and that the holy spirit is not a separate person but a part of the Father (finger of God, etc) and the active force of God. Accurately knowing these, you'll be encouraged to be baptized in the truth , knowing that you are being baptized accurately in the name of the Father, Son and holy spirit.

Email me if you have more questions. Thanks

If you were truly comparing and looking at several translations of the Bible (or if you were a scholar in languages) you would find that Jehovah's Witnesses have come so close to the original writings of the Bible that you would never accuse them of changing anything but realize that they had restored the Bible back to what God intended after OTHER humans changed it by adding misleading sentences, etc. Go to your library and look at several different Bibles--including an original King James. Then read the prefaces in several of them, especially with regard to God's name. E-mail me and tell me what else you don't approve of and I will try to help you figure it out.

Its so sad to hear u say that. But I have to say that I have been a Jehova's Witness for 18 years and I have never seen that the scriptures have been changed. I also have to say that baptizm is a serious thing. Therefore there are certain requirements to be baptized. If you really wanted to be baptized then you should have tried to follow those requirements sweetie, because that would have proved your determination to become Jehovah's loyal follower. If you felt like it was too many requirements then obviously you werent to convinced about what you were learning. Honey it's ok to ask questions and make sure you get them answered and be satisfied with the answers. I would love to hear more from you. Please email me

It is clear you need more study. Somewhere you said I understand, when actually you did not.
Simply go to the study conductor at the Kingdom hall and ask for more help. Don't be bashful, It is very important that you do understand.
Satan is throwing road blocks in your path and is succeeding, or you wouldn't be here.
Consider the latest one he threw my family. He nearly killed us when an 18 wheeler hit us last month.
God, Jehovah is very real and Satan will if he can , destroy you.
Don't run away. He will win if you do. Seek the knowledge and protection available from the brothers. Pray hard, you need the help right now, and the brothers can help!
A LOYAL brother

Find a new religion. Still a Christian one but one that has the same beliefs as you and your family. I am Baptist. I used to be Catholic but as a kid my mom hated the Catholic church and it's beliefs. I know how you feel and your right changing or altering the Bible is a crime against God.

Go to a non-denominational church. Dont follow the jehovah witness, Their a cult. They've already done things their not supposed to do. Read the bible and get an understanding on it for yourself.

Ask them why they Baptize. That will be a hoot!

Next, ask them who the scholars were that translated their Bible. That will be hoot #2! LOL! Their Bible is an interpretation, not a translation. It is so convoluted as to be pathetic.
