it's the right thing to do

I did not become a Christian for the rewards or because it is the right thing to do. I found the words of Jesus Christ and the Bible to be the truest of all. Between the Gospels, Proverbs and Ecclesiasties, that was all I needed to turn from my old belifes to the only truth. Sure the other belife systems like buddhism or zen have some truth, but your own efforts can not save you.

"Believe nothing. No matter where you read it or who has said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense." The Buddha

And yet the Buddha died like all other men still searching for enlightenment. Jesus Christ alone rose from the dead and declared "I am the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father but by me."

"If Christ sets you free, then you are free, indeed." So much of life is set in bondage - bondage to fear, addiction, pain, disappointment, life without meaning. If you call freedom, hope, love and faith a reward...then I guess it is the reward. But, to call love and freedom a reward misses the whole point. Since you really just have to say "yes!" to enter into His presence and see His miracles.

When you come to the realization that there really is a God and that He loves YOU! And, you open up to the possibility that He really wants you to love Him in return...then life takes on new meaning.

If you look for Him, you will find out that He has been there all the time just waiting for you to open the door to Him.

Did you ever want to please anyone in your life like say your father or mother? How do feel when you do the right thing and help someone in need? These are just two reason their are many many more. Heaven is just the end result of living a good life and putting your faith in a higher power.

I am a Christian because I believe it's the Truth. Also, the blessing of having a personal relationship with the One who created me, loves me, and died for me is more than my human brain can hold on to.

I don't want to be because its all a racket - there are no rewards except for the preachers who make millions each year from their naive congregations who give their hard-earned bucks to supposedly "spread the word" when all they're doing is lining the preacher's pockets.

Because it brings love and peace into myself, that no other human being has ever given to me and I probably will never get from my own earthly family ever in my life. Also, I have been servant to too many people and sacrificed myself to so many people that I had wanted someone to give back to me, what I will never get back in human terms ever in life.

I need to be a Christian because only Christianity has a Savior. If you believe that sin matters and that there are repercussions to sin then you need to be a Christian.

Will your mama save you? NO! She loves you but she can't save you.
Will Mohammed save you? NO!! He's just a poet, and a man.
Will Buddha save you? NO! He's just am empty philosopher.
You need Jesus.
