There are so many texts that refer to religious meaning. Would it take a lifetime to read and analyse them to find out what their true meanings mean?

well that's why there are scholars, and heads of religions, people who do all the studying and then present their synopses to us in college courses.

No. I studied world religions on my own spiritual quest when I was 12 years old. It didn't take long to realize that the Bible was the only true book when it comes to the Living God. All the rest of the supposed "gods" are dead or are mythological. Only Jesus Christ claimed to be God and rose from the dead. The rest - only people have given them significance. Jesus Christ is the only one whose birth and death Western civilization has measured history by...2006 A.D. which someone recently changed to CE to be (LOL) "politically correct".

Start with a readable version of the Bible such as the New Living Translation. I think you will find it surpasses any other religious text, and is far more archaeologically and historically proveable than any of the others.

Yes, it would take a lifetime to read all about God from all the different religions if you have not selected a suitable religion. Even within same religion, there are different text & interpretation or even different school of thought. Unless you are completely understand the chosen religion, you will not have strong faith to pursue it for the rest of life.

Yes, and No. I believe it all starts with the human heart, in which that is truly where God actually is and our belief of God is there also. But, after searching our own heart for God, then go the nearest religion belief or dogma that fits your heart's belief in God and learn all about God from there. If your heart's belief is of God is Buddha or even Muslim do not be afraid to look at those religions even though they go against society's wanting you to be Christian. But, has hidden himself in all the heart's of men, so we can learn of him and us from his holy spirit, that spirit is not christian, but, of all faiths of on this planet earth.
