I like to give my pets unique, foreign names but are still easily pronounced by english speakers. Do you know of any good ones for calico cats? (gray, white and orange to be specific)

There are translating websites. Type "french translator" into yahoo search and pick from dozens. You can type anything and get it translated.
French is very close to English though so consider french baby names.
Cheers.

Someone recently suggested Cosette for the heroine in Victor Hugo's novel "Les Miserables".

I think it is a darling name!

you could try something like "Brigitte"
In french calicos are called "tricolor"
but I know the "r"s are hard to say.
otherwise here's a french site with a bunch of names!

Oceane (Oh-see-awn), Adele, Odette, Adelaide (Ad-uh-lie-eed), Annelise (Ann-I-eese), & Astrid (Ast-reed) are some popular French names for girls.

I don't know many for boys, but I do know of Thomas (Tome-ahs), Gustave, and Leon (Lay-on). I'll post more if I think of them.
