Well.......everybody in the house needs to go to work or school. The dachshund will be left at home alone from 8:05am-3:35pm every day of the week except for the weekends.

okay yeh as long as he/she has food and water now to be safe if you have a lanolium kitchen and are able to use a child gate to keep them in the kitchen then yes because the doggie would be able to do their buisness on the floor and you can clean it up when u got home then after doing this for a while u may not even need to use the gate becasue they would be trained to go on that lanolium and not the carpet.

The reason why we decided NOT to get a dog was for the very same reason. Dogs are social creatures and it's unhealthy to have them "hold it" for 7-8 hours. If someone can come home for lunch and let the poor dog out, otherwise, I think it's mean.

Also, I really hate it when someone leaves their dog in the car with the window cracked open an inch. It gets hot in a car in the summer and pretty darned cold in the winter. Leave the poor thing at home.

Most households are busy with people needing to go to work and school and their dogs are left alone during the day. But if you have a dog, you've accepted the responsibility to give that dog the care it needs. Dogs are not things that can be ignored until the weekend when it may be more convenient to devote the time they need. Dogs are living, breathing beings and need to be walked more than just on weekends - they need to be walked, and played with every day of their lives.

It's hard to imagine you're a dog lover when you're giving your dog so little attention. Can't someone in the family take him for at least a short walk in the morning before he's left all day? Then, when you're home again, take him for a long walk. It'll make him much happier if he gets some exercise and is out in the world a bit.

He would probably be ok but I have a hard time believing no one in the family can walk him all week... It only takes 10-15 minutes and dogs need walks. Not to mention attention. What about evening walks?

If not, he might start acting up.

What a lonely life. I would strongly consider getting her a little friend to keep her company while everyone is gone. Does she have a doggy door so she can go outside? Another suggestion.

sure, my miniature Pomeranian is incredibly much 3 years old and he or she's nevertheless no longer housebroken. It takes a on the same time as. on occasion you may merely have a perplexing domestic dog. Take it outdoors to bypass to the bathing room each hour or so. And whilst it rather is interior out of it rather is crate purchase a number of those pee pads that they are in a position to bypass on. they actually help. particularly in case you have carpet. They scent the pad and it makes them realize it rather is alright to pee on. As for the crate at night, i will't rather assist you to on that one because of the fact my dogs sleeps with me at night. yet different than that, reliable luck!

ouch... doxies luv attention, i got one. fence out ur backyard and get a doggie door so he can go potty. mine is on my lap rite now. lol leave lots of toys and a few treats hidden round the howse and leave a radio on a quiet talk show so he wont feel alone as much. leave a couple windows open for him 1-3 inches so it wont get too hot.

I've got 3 dachshunds and I do leave them alone but I put puppy pads down, for them. They don't always use them..
When you do leave your dog alone, makesure you pick up whatever,he/she can chew on..

just makesure you take your dog out as soon as you get home..
