My ex hasn't called me since we've broken up, says HI to me when we run into each other. He's really close to his mom and still talks to her about me. Still has our picture up in the same place, got a tattoo that i gave him and introduced him to after we broke up. Ran into him in the club the other night (haven't talked to him in 4 wks) Texted him, he said he's outside. We went to the side and talked. I told him that I wanted to make this work. He said that he's not against it but it would take time. He's been in his comfort zone for 3 years (hadn't had a girlfriend until he met me). I asked if he was talking to anybody and he said, there is a girl that he kinda is. I told him then that I don't want to mess anything up with you and her if thats who you want to be with, and he said if I wanted to be with her I would, you are my first choice. I asked him about the tattoo and about not calling me. It was a good converstation, but I don't know where to go from here...

He has past issues and you need to give him more time to get over them. He said you were first choice. Hang in there. Be his friend until he is ready for more.

He needs to be the one that makes the next move. You have told him that you want to work it out with him, wait to see if he feels the same way about you. Keep in friendly contact, if you are his first choice he should want to be back with you.

Basically, the ball is in his court!!! Give him a couple of weeks to call you or maybe a month to stretch it. If he doesn't call, then move on. He said that you were number 1, but he is not showing it!!! Good Luck.

You've made it clear how you feel; now you need to get on with your life. If he decides that the wants you he'll try to get back with you; if he doesn't, he won't. Sounds to me like he might be keeping you as backup in case things don't work out with this other girl though.

if you want to get back with him....go for it....if it doesnt work out you can break up too.
