I am not talking about friendship love, but can you be in love and not have sex? What is love?

Sure, think of mom and dad, your brothers and sisters, your puppy (aka puppy love). Conversely you can also have sex with someone you don't love. Its all so flexible and confusing isn't it :)

I can't honestly answer your question because I am not sure what love is myself. I do believe it's when you care about someone. There are different levels of love for different people in our lives. The love for a mate might not be as strong as or may be different from the love one might have for a child. My parents where together for 28yrs before we lost her last Halloween at age 58. Her health had been bad for a number of years and as it got worse so did her mental state. I know for a fact that not many yrs after the birth of my brother(their child together) sex was no longer in their marriage (13yrs). I'm not going to lie and say it did not cause my mom a lot of heartache. I won't lie and say my stepdad didn't go out side the marriage for sex, we know of two incedents for sure. When the end drew near tho, he proved to her and to all of us that he truely did love her dearly. He had to sign the papers to have her uthenized(to put it nicely) and now he is dealing with the guilt. He has aged 10yrs over night it seems (completely grey headed now)since her death and is sad and lonely. Women in our community(with no class or respect) have come out of the woodwork so to speak and tried to make their moves but he has sent them on their way with out a second thought. He says that my mom was his one and only true love and no one will ever take her place. So yes, I do believe that two people can be in love, love each other dearly and not have a sexual relationship. Peace2U & Lots of Love!
