The current continued occupation in Iraq is going badly because there is no clear plan, to coherent strategy, no defined goals, no milestones -- any project manager who tried to do that on a major program would be fired and possibly sued for the wasted efforts.
Blind faith may be good for prayer, but it is a lousy military plan. And any strategy based on closing your eyes, crossing your fingers and hoping everything works out in the end is almost guaranteed to fail.

I love how you libs ave to resort to personal attacks when you don't have a point to make that is actually based in truth. Calling anyone who supports the president or the war a nazi really shows who you are.
I wasn't aware the war was going badly, however to give you the benefit of the doubt, it could go so much better and it could be over so much sooner if the president would kick the media out of Iraq and untie the hands of the military to do their jobs. The job of the military is simply to kill people and break things. The media second guesses everything the military does and makes the military members second guess everything they do so they can't achieve the mission or even defend themselves. BTW, I have been to Iraq and I'm hoping to go back. What you will NEVER hear from the media is that the Iraqi people love us being there. The media only airs the 1% they can manage to find who don't want us there. Don't believe everything you see on TV or read in the print media, believe what you hear from the soldiers who were actually there.

First of all I am in Iraq for the third time. Second, Congress voted to go to war democrats and republicans however the democrats seem to have forgotten that part. Third, the UN sanctions being ignored by Saddam for 12 years needed to be addressed however the UN, lameduck organization, was hamstrung by the three countries who were after oil, China, Russia, and Germany. They had illegally signed oil contracts with Saddam and veto'd anything the UN tried to do. I do agree though that the reasons stated for us being here were completely fabricated but I also believe we should be here. I can't see us leaving Iraq or Bosnia, sanctioned by the UN because they have no oil, for some time to come. Lastly, the media says it is going badly but I think you would get a different picture if you were here. The people have water, electricity, schools and can vote which they did in tremendous numbers. The media loves you because you believe every word they utter.

The only people that support the war now are those who don't understand the true situation there, in many cases because they're in denial and don't want to face the painful truth. Radical Islam has a new training ground in Iraq where it can perfect the skills it will use against the west for years to come. Large tracts of Iraq are no go areas for the coalition and are controlled by militias and radical clerics-from a strategic viewpoint that is fatal because there will always be safe havens for the insurgency. Iraq was virtually a secular state before the invasion and while Saddam was a tyrant he was against Islamic fundamentalists who threatened his secular power. It was a mistake to remove him and that was compounded by the ineptitude displayed by the coalition in the aftermath of his removal. It is an unmitigated disaster and it isn't going to end well for either ordinary Iraqis or Americans.

I might not go there, but my son will. He's a Marine. If you recall, presidents before Bush, as well as other world leaders, recognized Saddam as a threat. And, people know 9/11 and Iraq are unrelated. That argument is such a nonissue. Not even sure why you used it. Your opinion is the same as any person at any time through history whenever America has faced a conflict. There is always some moron out there saying whatever president is going to ruin the entire country. Hasn't happened yet. Relax.

Is the war going badly for the U.S.? I wasn't aware of that. We have taken Saddam out of power. Created a government where people feel free, captured some of the masterminds behind 9/11, and there hasn't been another terror attack in the U.S. since 9/11, and yet you say it's going badly? for whom?
Now question #2. Why do some people not support the war? There will always be some one who will not support something. If you were soley responsible for brining World Peace, someone would complain aobut it. Does that mean that we are doing wrong? No, it just means that some people will complain about anything.

I'd join if my husband wasn't already in.
He's doing what is right. Have you read the comments about Iraq way back when nothing was done about it? How diplomacy has failed?
Have you?
What if it had been your precious Clinton that had warred with Iraq? It could have been. If he had payed proper attention to international affairs.
He was a little *ahem* busy. Playing saxaphone. With the movie stars.
This is not a picnic. War never is. Esp. not against these people. It changes constantly.

What is going on in Iraq, is partially the fault of the Iraqi people. half Shia, half Sunni...lets kill each other...
If the Iraqi people wanted this to end it would.. they are now killing each other in a religious civil war. Time for the USA to exit, quickly, before many more thousands of Americans die there. Over 2600 Americans dead, many more thousands wounded or mamed, and over 500-600 + Billion dollars of American Tax dollars wasted in Iraq on those worthless Iraqi People.

Do you think that people in the military are not going to die. That they are going to sit ion their butts and live a normal life No they join because they want defend their country. And when they die fighting for our country they die for what they believe in. Saddam Hussein funded Al Queda. The president was lied to he didn't lie to anyone. He was just misinformed. If I could join the military I would. I would blow Iraq up with a button so I don't think I am in the right mind for it.
