Years ago after I had my son, I went to the same beauty operator that I had always gone to. She knew I had just recently had a baby. At the time my hair was blue black. I wanted to get my hair frosted. She put the bleach on my hair and stuck me under the hair dryer for a very long period of time. After I had sat there it seemed for ever, I reached and felt my hair and brought down what looked like cotton. I got out from under the hair dryer and asked her about it. She took me back to rinse my hair, and the bleach had literally melted my hair.
When i tried to talk to her about what had gone wrong, she simply apologized and said that I had gotten my hair frosted too soon after I had the baby and that the chemistry change in my body had caused the bleach to melt my hair.
I was 23 at the time and didn't want to cause trouble. I had to wear a wig for the next two years.
I cried many a tear over that mess up.

I had to read this one! I am a hairstylist! for 25 yrs, and I have seen and had to fix my share of other stylists screw ups...to the lady whos hair was frosted and it went bad due to getting it done too soon after ur baby was born, NOT! the bleach was too strong, and under heat just melted ur hair, stylist error...
if u have a bad experience, go back or call the one who did it and complain but i would not recommend letting them do it again! if they screwed up the first time wut makes u think they can fix it?? u may have to pay someone else extra cuz for me corrective color services are more difficult to deal with, but getting it right is what matters the most. A good hairstylist will give you a free consultation and figure out what is the best solution. In my opinion, bad haircuts are no excuse in our industry, if u cant cut u in the wrong biz!!

I HAD shoulder length hair. I HAD a hairstylist for 5 years. I was NOT the one in tears...it took 4 years to get it all one length again and it only gets that long again when I am unable to get to my current stylist who knows beter than to make any decisions w/o asking me first...

One other time another stylist put the wrong color on my hair and I came out looking like Wynonna(singer-not actress)...since Lucille Ball was never a favorite we fixed it right away. The girl that did it was in tears and I told her to think about the how the woman who wanted bright red hair with blonde and caramel highlights felt when she got ash blonde hair with blonde and caramel highlights. It seems they had a person who only mixed color and obviously two people got the wrong applications...Twice I was reading and not paying attention and see what happened?

YES! I'm done with salons,I'm tired of the butcherd cuts and stylists talking on the phone when they are suppose to be doing my hair. I asked to have my side bang trimmed and she winds up chopping off a piece of hair from the side. this after she knows I am already trying to grow out chopped up uneven layers that the last idiot did to me. She told me she will see me in 6 to 8 weeks for a touch up on my color. NOT! she can kiss my @ss. Now I need to get the name of the color she used on me, so that I can do it my self,I don't know if she will tell me. I didn't notice the missing piece of hair in the salon because of the way my hair was hanging.

In high school I went to the salon to get my long, long hair trimmed. The stylist couldn't really speak English, but I figured, I'm not getting anything complicated done, so who cares? "One-inch trim and a few subtle layers." I mean, how can you mess that up? I even mimed "one-inch" by showing her the width of two fingers.

So, they English-as-a-2nd-language stylist says "No, problem, Rachel, Rachel, No Problem!"

And I'm all, "Um, OK! Good 'No Problem', but like I told the receptionist, my name is Marie." And again, the stylist says "Ok, ok, we cut now Rachel." Wtf? Ok, whatever. You can call me Rachel.

So you know what she did? She gave me The Rachel. As in THE Rachel haircut. As in...

So no one told you that it was gonna be this way
CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP
You're job's a joke, you're broke
Your love life's DOA!
It's like you're always stuck in second gear
And it hasn't been your day, your week, your month
Or even your year, but
I'll be there for you
(When the rain starts to pour)
I'll be there for you
(Like I've been there before)
I'll be there for you
'Cause you're there for me too!

Let me tell you, it was ponytails and hats for the entirety of '93.

I have a lot of bad experience with hair stylist... In fact I learn to color my hair my self...Few times I even remember cutting out my hair because it was all burned - once after permanent, few times after coloring and once even after styling with hair dryer - this one was really bad, because they make assistant work on me (I didn't know that) and she just screw up all my hair (and it was the place my friends recommend me - don't always listen to friends)... She put on all around my head those small round brushes (to make big curls), then she use hair dryer to warm it up and then she couldn't get then out!!! They was altogether tear of those brushes (together with my hair) to get them out... Imagine what happened to my hair after that!!! I got short hair cut.. In another place of course.... It was horrible experience - never will forget it...

oh good Lord yes!

this lady cut my hair for 28 dollars and i ended up looking like one of those "special kid" from the m. ward.

she snipped my fringe SO short i had to permanantly raise my eyebrow to make my forehead look smaller. (i have what u call those 5 fingered forehead)

plus the sides were all uneven.

i didnt cry but i sure swore alot.

Yes and, worse yet, it happened right before I went on the trip of a lifetime! so all my photos of me in the United Kingdom, Italy, Turky, Greece, Egypt and Israel have me wearing a scarf! (Not the same scarf, LOL! I promptly went out and bought scarves to match all my outfits.)

I still can't believe it... I looked like a diseased poodle!
