what happens when you breathe them in? Do they do some kind of damage to your internal organs? Sorry if this is distasteful but I was just wondering.

No, they're actually good for you. They get into your digestive system and eat the undigested poop out of your colonic passage, otherwise known as "Phlegma". Each one only has a life span of 1 week but produces at a rate of 200 eggs per female with a one day gestation period. In essence you are crapping out an average of 500 insects with each trip to the can and about 10 to 20 make it inadvertantly out your urethra. If you look very very closely next time you have a bowel movement you can see them. They are very small white dots that usually end up inside the stool so you can only see them at the "breaking point".

Dust mites are harmless. They eat dead skin. Your skin is replaced completely at least once a week by your body. The dead cells flake off and are eaten by the dust mites. Dust mites live in your bed, on the floor, furniture, even in your eyebrows. IF you inhale them nothing will happen. They are as dangerous to inhale as dust itself. If dust makes you cough then so will dust mites. If it doesn't affect you then neither will dust mites. They are harmless. Hope this helps.

Well you sure don't want to inhale anything but pure, clean air. Get rid of dust mites by vacuuming frequently, and thoroughly. Mist anything suspicious with a spray of rubbing alcohol which will kill most anything. Wash clothes and bedding often. Dry them in bright sunlight.

THEY GET TRAPPED IN YOUR UPPER RESPIRATORY SYSTEM
IF THEY DO GET INTO YOUR LUNGS, THERE ARE CELLS THAT GROW AROUND FOREIGN MATTERS, WHICH KILLS THE DUST MITES
