Yes, during your first year your period is generally very irregular.

I would hope that a young girl could talk to her mom about this, since she is a virgin and just started her periods this year, I don't think that would be all that uncommon. I am speaking from my own life. I would have a period every 4-6 months. I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with a hormone imbalance. Get her to talk to her mom and see a doctor. Good luck.

It is absolutely normal for the period to be irregular in a young teen who has just started ovulating. It can take as long as two years for your body to settle down to a regular schedule...and there is nothing to say that two months is not a "regular" schedule for this girl anyway.

When I first started my period at the age of 11 years, my periods came irregularly for the first year...they would be 5 weeks apart, then 3 weeks, then 10 weeks, etc. When they finally settled down, my periods were on a six week schedule. And they stayed that way until I gave birth to my first child at 23 years.

Tell your friend not to sweat it. We are all different, and what is regular for one person is not necessarily regular for another.

She needs to talk to her mother! Or a school counselor. It's normal to skip a cycle in some woman and depending on the age. She should also visit the library and do research. She shouldn't stress if she's a virgin. But it's obvious she needs questions answered.

Not too sure. But my sis come her period once a year. And when she having period it could last more than 2 month. She never consult a doctor. And this year she just gave birth to a healthy baby girl.

First of all, she should NOT be afraid to discuss this with her Mom, Mom's have alot of experiences and always know best, so please encourage her to talk with her Mom. As she gets older there will be even more sensitive matters she should discuss with her Mom, so she should break the ice with this question.

Having said that, it sounds very normal, when girls are young and are in the first few years of menstrating their cycles will be very abnormal, some will have them more frequently, other will have them less. Tell her not to worry, and to talk with her Mom!

If she just got it this year that must make her very young so tell her to wait until she's older! And to talk to her mom & dr. unless there is some reason why she's not! As far as what is 'normal' that's a word that there isn't a definative explanation of; what's 'normal for me is prolly weird to others!

If she just got it it's not unormal it comes unraguarly the at first but if it's some time ago she should probably talk to a doctor. Not that im an expert.
