Pfft...
I wouldn't ask a Christian that, open your spiritual eye to them and be prepared to close your mind!

Hello Maria,
Some interesting answers you've had. I'd like to suggest an exercise that you do for 1 month if I may, and I garuntee you will feel different at the end of the month.
Set aside twenty minutes per day.
1st few seconds. Dedicate in prayer the time you are spending to God and ask Him to be with you.
1st five minutes. Worship. Sing songs that you know and feel close to God when in church.
2nd five minutes. Read your bible. There are many ways that you can pick WHAT you read. Either follow the reading that you had in church the previous Sunday, follow a "Read your bible in 4 years" plan or one of those daily readings books.
3rd five minutes. Pray that God will show you His will in the passage you have just read. Then spend the rest of the five minutes in silence listening. At first you will not be sure what you are listening to, and you will get vague thoughts about the passage. You will probably get distracted. If this happens, concentrate on God. Say out loud that you belong to Jesus Christ and it will bring you back to the passage and what God is trying to say.
4th five minutes. In a diary, write down the passage you have read (just the title and reference, not the whole passage eg Rev 3:20) and the thoughts that you had about it.
At the end of the month, go back over the diary. You will see that there are definate connections between many of those vague thoughts (also by the end of the month the thoughts will probably be less vague and more structured). Those connections are what God is saying to you personally. You will be able to SEE where God is working in your life. (and often in the lives of those around you when you have done this for a few months)
I am sorry that as Christians we do use a lotof "lingo". Opening your "spirtual eyes" means just that you will see Jesus working, not in a physical way, although of course that is a part of it, but in a spiritual one. Remember that we are body (the flesh, senses, desires, addictions) Soul (the emotions and experiences that make us who we are) and Spirit (the part which knows that there is something greater than us which cannot be seen but is nevertheless real). Each needs nurtutring and giving to God, but each needs to be done in different ways.
I really hope that this helps and answers your question. Please feel free to contact me if you don't get any of this.
God Bless you
All the best

OK so - so far noone has given you a proper answer! Hopefully I'll be able to help a little bit.
I dont believe there is such a thing as 'spiritual eyes'. Just open your eyes to the world around you - trees, sunsets, all the things that are beautiful about our world - surely then there must be something out there that created that? It can't just be chance.
Its just things like that. Despite what some people say, Christianity isnt brainwashing. You are totally free to make your own decision about what you want to believe - noones going to force you to do anything.
if youve any more questions, fire them in my direction :)

I feel a lot better if I have been to church. Eventually I went to the Salvation Army. They say, just live as if God exists and then the belief in God, and everything that goes with it like the perceptiveness, will come on its own. I find that I can see God's work if I have been about 4 times and it is really nice.I know some people say they are spiritual without believing in God, but I can't get my head round that.

On the contrary of what people say.......!!!!!!
If you are saved you do have spiritual eyes, christians look at things through the spiritual eye with the aid of God's help and our own convictions.
The best thing to do is read your Bible, pray and ask the Lord for guidance in your life. Ask him to teach you and to help you grow in your spiritual walk with him and to give you a better understanding of things in your life and your personal walk with him. Ask for his will to be done, not yours and to open your eyes to what ever it is you need to see no matter what it is. You have to be truly willing to die out to him and to let go of any and all things that might be a weight or burden that might be holding you back from a closer walk with him. Only you are the one that knows what might be a henderance in your christian walk. No one is perfect and everyone falls and makes mistakes, but if you do dust yourself off get up ask for forgivness and keep walking in God's word. Ask the Lord to help you to except his will and to open your eyes and to see things as he would and not as you see them with the natural eye. I know that I have probably rambled on and I'm sorry. I don't know if I've helped or not but I hope I have in some small way. May God Bless You and Keep You In His Will.

You speak with exactly the articulate and precise voice I have come to associate with those whose spiritual eyes are open.
