I would judge you by your actions, not your words. If you said you loved me but killed your own son and brought evil upon the earth, I would say you are a liar.

(Isaiah 45:7, KJV) - "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things."

(Amos 3:6) - "Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? Shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?"

EDIT: Biblehelp, there are about 20 different English versions of the bible. Depending on which version you read (or believe to be the one and only definitive version) words such as evil, calamity, woe, weal, disaster, and so on and so forth, are used. They all mean the same thing in my eyes - this god of yours is all things. The up, the down, the good, the bad, the ying and the yang. I will not place my trust or faith in an entity that is not AT ALL TIMES a loving, merciful, benevolent god. Quote whatever other passages you want from whatever version you want. When someone (or something) tells me they create evil, calamity, disaster, woe, etc. I want nothing to do with them. I respect your belief. I hope you'll respect mine.

Though you don't give very much information, my first response is: WHY would I try to prove that you didn't? Is it normal to react to someone's love with suspicion and doubt?

Unless you said "I love you" to mean the same as "I love cheeseburgers" or "I love that shirt." If you were just playing with my feelings, I would hope that I knew you well enough to sense that.

But if you meant it in a sincere or romantic way, then I would be warmed and most flattered. I certainly wouldn't attempt to disprove you. Instead - depending upon how well I know you, how much you mean to me, and my emotional connection with you - I would trust in you and do all that I can to see that love deepen and grow.

By your actions. Angry C my translation uses the word calamity instead of evil in those verses you state, exactly why I do not like the KJV because King James had that Bible translated his way and he was a wicked king. The Bible states in many verses that God does not cause evil and does not try men. Also, because of God's love for us it was necessary for Jesus to die for our sins or we would have no hope for the everlasting life God wants us to have, God's perfect justice required a perfect life for a perfect life and no imperfect human was capable of paying the price. Because God and Jesus did this you now have a hope of living forever rather than losing your life forever.

Love is an action word. I would watch your actions because they speak louder than words. I wouldn't have to prove you didn't love me. You would take care of that by yourself. I would just sit back and watch!

I wouldn't try to prove you don't love me. I'm one of those pale Emo kids, lol. I would simply say "Thank you" and then shove my tongue down your throat.

Okay, lol I wouldn't do the tongue thing. But I would say "Thank you. Blessed be." And that's all.
