The NT describes them the way a Republican would describe a Democrat or visa versa. it extremely is an erroneous stereotype. Edit: What you meant to respond to was thanking me for effectively stating that an entire team of persons from 2000 years contained in the previous should not be lumped jointly. sure, there have been some hypocrites, whether you mustn't purchase into the generalization. nonetheless, I at the instant are not waiting to renounce you from performing like a Rhode Island blacksmith while you at the instant are not susceptible to alter.

The pride of the Pharisees was from their religious authority. The Religious Right is far more interested in political control and machinations of power, with religion as a key demographic. I think the two are different. Bush, whether or not he is a Christian, is interested in consolidating power.

So my answer is no.

Yes it has. For example, you know all those religious leaders that have been busted for sexually abusing children and for being homosexual? Well they are supposed to be guiding people spiritually just like the pharisees and sahnedrin back in the day, but they prove to be just like them "hypocrites and lawless people".

Good question and good comparison. Yes, many of today's Christians have choked on the small things and forgotten the weightier matters of loving God and their neighbor.

And that we are to live our faith, not continue to live in sin and expect the bible to be re-written to include that sin as acceptable.
