I feel that he is because if he really were a holy man he would be out there doing what God said to do, preach to the nations about his kingdom. He really doesnt do much but travel around "blessing" people and stuff. If it were that easy why didnt Jesus do the same thing? Jesus actually preached about His Father's kingdom, and tried to help people without pay. The pope does nothing but travel around and wave his hand like miss universe and take in all that money.

Yes. Too many people go to him thinking he will preform miracles. I know I'm going to get tons of thumbs down for this, but I don't really care. It's my opinion, and I'm entitled to it. You don't agree with me, fine.
I don't understand why he is worshiped the way he is. He is a man who wants power and nothing else. He was picked by man, for man. I don't believe God came down and said pick this guy. If you look at the history of the Pope going way, way back, the guy that was picked usually bribed the people voting, or lied and cheated to get there. So, yes, I don't think he's all he's cracked up to be.

I don't think that the current Pope, Benedict XVI, is a false prophet.
I have done quite a bit of research in the area of the Catholic Church history, and I have noted three things:
1) The more power a pope has, the easier it is to fall into corruption (greed, sexual immorality, murder).
2) When the pope declares himself a conservative it is almost always a good turn in history.
3) The pope has been a target for persecution since the formation of the Catholic Church.
A man in the power position of Pope could lead the world astray with Cathoilic teachings (holiness of mary, praying to saints, must work your way to heaven).
Yet, in Joseph Ratzinger(Benedict XVI) I have noticed a sense of urgency to fight back against the cults and false religions in the world today. His comments on Islam struck a very sensitive cord in the world today.
The Islamic religion claims to be a peaceful religion, yet when one reads the Koran, one sees that this is not the case.
The Koran states that the Jews and the Christians have a place reserved for them in Hell. And the muslims are to kill the infidel.
The Christian Crusades in the middle ages were to reclaim the Holy lands from the Muslims, why do I see a connecting feud between Islam and Christianity today? Because the two religions are at odds with each other quite publicly.
To this point, I have not found any evidence for which to call Pope Benedict XVI a false prophet yet, I will be watching him closely. As I'm sure the rest of the world does.

Yip, I think so.. If u read in Revelation when the angel explains the symbolism of the woman that rides the beast to John, u'l see that the woman rides the beast with 7 horns , the 7 horns they speak of actually refer 2 7 hills... Which city in the world is built on 7 hills? No not the Vatican! Surely not.. And anywayz Catholic doctrine is such man made doctrine it isn't even funny. Read Matt 16:18 where Jesus "gives Peter the keys to heaven" they base their entire faith on this verse, Peter was supposedly their 1st Pope.. Strangely though they didn't notice that a few verses on, in Matt 16:23 Jesus calls Peter satan because he is savouring the things of man, a rather strange way of speakn to sum1 u just appointed Pope. And further more in Revelation 1:3 (I think its this verse, I dnt have my Bible wit me) it says that Jesus has the keys of heaven... However as much as u tell them this, they will always have an answer, I feel sorry 4 them because they are responsible for millions of people damned 4 eternity..

I think are prophets are false prophets. Speaking specifically of the pope. I dont beliecve the man with the most valuable art collection in the world and isthe overall administrator of the vatican is representative of Jesus who said go and give all your money to the poor. I also do not believe that the man who is head of an independent state (albeit a small one) is representative of Jesus who said "I have no Kingdom in this World. These are two of literally dozens of examples.

The pope is as holy... asholy... assholy... asshole... Oh, sorry, got lost there for a little while. No, I don't think the pope is a false prophet or any other kind of prophet. He's just a religious man in a seat of power who thinks he can tell people how to live, but his power is just as illusory as the credibility of the church. And I have to say weemaryanne was right on with her answer.

The pope isn't a prophet. He makes a living keeping the Roman Catholic Church bringing in funds. Read Ezekiel 34.

False prophets are those who lead us away from God - who may even persuade us into fallowing their own beliefs or worshiping them. I don't pay much attention to the Pope. I'm not Catholic. I don't really know much about his teachings, so I am unable to make a judgment about his character or plans. I do know that God appoints individuals to positions of leadership, and the Pope may be an example of that. The nly real way to detect a false prophet is to compare his words against the Word of the Lord.

he's not even a prophet...he is just a man and a sinner like all of us...why do people hold him so high....a poor man that has Christ is richer in heaven than the rich man without Him
