My dog gets very affected by stinging nettles and it really irritates her feet (bless her!). If your dog is bothered by their feet after running through stinging nettles, try covering their pads on their feet in antihistimine cream (e.g. anthisan from any chemist), it soothes the irritation and they get distracted by the funny smelling cream you're covering their feet in!

I don't think that dogs are affected to the same degree as we are by nettles. My dog has never shown any kind of distress after walking through nettles.

our little dog has very short hair on legs and feet, after running through nettles he is obviously in discomfort. he avoids them when ever he can. he also keeps away from thistles so i suppose they do get stung. does it give him/her long term pain? if not don't worry.

Our dog does get stung I'm sure - but doesn't seem to care. There is so much in the world to smell, roll in, swim through and eat.
A little pain is nothing.

If she doesn't mind why should I worry about her?

Dogs do get stung and I don't see why doc leaves can't be used on them.
