Well...do you want it like the restaurants do it or do you like it humming bird syrup sweet? Are you going to fly south after you drink it? I have done 1 cup of sugar for 2 quarts of tea. Sometimes I boil the sugar in water until it melts and mix this with the tea. The tea co. I buy from says to put the tea and water in a container and stick it in the fridge overnight--that this will make the best iced tea! Then you can add the syrup mixture to taste right to you.

I boil 4-5 quart sized tea bags in a medium sized pan; after it boils, I let it sit for a while. Then I drain the tea into a gallon jug (I always squeeze the tea bags out) and add 2 cups of sugar, then fill the jug with cold water and shake it up. Sometimes I get dangerous and add pink lemonade Kool-Aid to the sugar - I think it's soooo good!

depends on how sweet you want it. I would make up some simple syrup. Half cup boiling water and half cup sugar. Stir to dissolve sugar, this will mix in to the tea better and not fall out like plain sugar would. If you have any left over you can store it in a sealed container for a few months before using it again.

For a gallon of tea, microwave two cups of water to boil, then into that put four family sized tea bags. Cover and let sit about 20 minutes. During that time, microwave another two cups of water to boiling. Into your pitcher, put about a cup and 1/4 of sugar and then pour in the boiled water and stir until the sugar is desolved. Fill the pitcher up most of the way with cold water, leaving room for the tea. (if you put the tea in before the majority of the water, your tea will foam) Take the teabags out of the cooling water. Squeezing the bags is a personal choice, it will make the tea more bitter if you do squeeze. Pour the tea into the pitcher and stir. Refrigerate. When serving, serve over ice. This is the "proper" Southern way to make iced sweet tea.

depends on how sweet you want it. You could start with 1/2 cup and work up to a whole cup or even 2 for really sweet.
