Make you wonder, doesn't it?
"You believe in a book that has talking animals, wizards, witches, demons, sticks turning into snakes, food falling from the sky, people walking on water, and all sorts of magical, absurd and primitive stories, and you say that we are the ones that need help?" [Dan Barker, former Christian minister, Losing Faith in Faith]

I believe the Bible is the Word of God. I will do what Christ says over what man says and I am not worried about man's ridicule. When you believe in the right thing, the other lesser things don't matter. Only God has the power to send me to hell, people don't.

Like it or not.. it is still the best selling book of all time.
Must be something to it, even if you think some of it is ridiculous.
I feel safe in taking the more literal or factual approach on those writings that should be taken that way. It also contains poetry, song, proverbs, and parables, which are meant to be subjective and open to interpretation. Take it for what it is..

OK this is a tic tac toe game so I will answer it quickly.
The idea of the Bible is that we are supposed to adjust our mind soul and spirit to it. So to even suggest that there is fault with it will be a moot point. The more ridicule we receive the more it tells us that we are on track with GOD. The world is seen as A-Theist and A-Jesus so opposition tells us we have struck a chord with the world. If you really want to stop us and validate your ideas then by all means be happy with your beliefs and don't attack peoples core values. Yes the Bible is core to Christianity.
GOD bless ya!

...On the other hand, why must I go along with crowd - showing a lack of character and resolve?
...I choose to do right, because it's right to do right, and obey God, standing alone if necessary.
...Within the last couple of years one denomination decided to ordain homosexuals. The created problems and disagreements in the church. The leadership decided that "Heresy was better than schism." What a spineless bunch of unprincipled folks! In other words, they say it's preferable to pitch God's word, so they can have their "warm pack" (big congregation), rather than stand for the truth of Scripture, and upset a few so-called Christians. If you stand for nothing, you'll fall for anything.
...I'll take schism, thank you. I will stick with His word.

Jesus was open to ridicule all of the time. In fact Christ said that the wise things of God would seem like foolishness to people of the world. So really, when a bible believing Christian gets ridiculed, it only reaffirms their faith

Jesus was riduculed and blasted for the things He did too but look where it will get Him. Right hand of the Father, even more exalted spot in Heaven and those that riduculed Him will be answering to Him one day soon for what they did and said to and about Him. If I have to go through a bit of ridicule to get Heaven, it is a very small price to pay.

I believe whole heartily in the Lord. I have felt His presence and His power. I know the Word of the Lord, live the Word of the Lord, and share the Word of the Lord bacause it's what I truly believe. What human beings in this world think of me is not important. I am looking forward to eternal life with Christ.

Just too scary to think outside the box. And it gives one something to defend, and that gives one a sense of purpose and righteousness.

Because people are ****** desperate. They don't give a f**k that it leaves them open to ridicule. Whether one believes or not; ridicule happens. Atheists are left open to ridicule as well. Furthermore, ridicule will often turn into violent persecution.
Jesus-Titty-******-Christ, are we blind?
