They like to dance, sing, play outside, draw, play in paddling pools, bath etc.
Make believe games, such as the sofa is an island and they swin across the sea of the front room floor. At the age of 3-5 they have fantastic imaginations.
Watch cartoons, be read too, or if they can, read themselves.

You are looking at a blank canvass at that age they like and are willing to try most games.

We have treasure hunts, play shop, there are so many things they like its hard to list.

Why do you wish to know?

Think back to your own childhood. You had one you know LOL

Children that age love to pretend and tell stories. They like to dress up. They like to be immature one moment and older the next. They love to be hugged and cuddles when they want it, not when others want to hug them.

They like to be silly and make grown ups laugh. And they will repeat any behavior, positive or negative, if that gives them the attention they are seeking.

Children this age want to play alone but also want to play with friends. They may not be able to name/first their new friend but they want to tell people about their friend.

They don't want to always share their own toys but sure want to use other's toys. They make take something from another person without asking because they are still learning the social skills of sharing and property ownership.

Games they like to play include catch, hide and seek, building a fort, picnic, stacking things and then being destructive, sandpile, running around and playing tag, all activities that are very active one moment and quiet and sedate the next.

Remember children this age do not have safety skills of strangers, traffice, environmental items like cleansers or medications, so make sure they are safe. Children this age like to mimmick what adults and peers do.

This is a very fun age that I have always referred to as "the sponge." These small people are blank slates ready to have new things added to their lives.

I started teaching my daughter how to play cards between 3 and 4 years old.

The highest card game was the first, each player puts down a card from their stack and the highest number or card wins.

Its fun for them and introduces the concept of numbers.

Once learned, the next game was crazy 8, they love that and gives their brains something to work on to develop thinking skills.

they are starving to learn, need to be read to and helped to learn to manage their bodies and manipulate their environments.
this is the time when parents and aunts, uncles, etc, need to be PRESENT with them as they learn about the world. playing with them, reading to them, reading reading reading (so they will enjoy reading and do well in school) guiding them, and keeping them safe.
