Hi Maria...your eyes is salty is one reason. The other is that your lashes may be fascinating to him/her too. For the sentimental reason...because it was love at first sight! :-)

My kitten licks my nose. She tries to lick my lips, but that annoys me. My daughter licks the kittens head and neck. Ew gross!

If she licks your eyes in the morning, she probably wants you to wake up. My cat would do that when she was a baby too. She was very active, and if she had no one to play with, she would either wake me or my sister up.

When I had my kittens they would put their soft little paws on my eyes when I closed them. They probably wanted to know where my eyes had "gone".
When my son was about 1 yr old he went around the back of the television to look. I think he thought the human on the screen was around the back somehow.
