The War Lord CONSTANTINE and his diabolical mother hijacked Christianity many years ago and set up the system that is now roman catholicism. They teach and preach a ""Different Gospel"" than that of Jesus and True Christianity.

Even the claim of first pope is a fabrication.

The Roman Church would have you believe that the first Bishop of Rome (Pope) was Peter. There is no real reason they claim this, as the first true Pope was Gregory I, in 590-604 A.D.

Prior to that, the various bishops of different territories were relatively independent, although some rural bishops would fall under their metropolitan. Over time, there were political problems that arose, and part of that was over where the seat of the church was, either Rome or Constantinople. This ultimately resulted in a schism, that separated the Roman Church from the Orthodox.

As far as who selects the Pope, the College of Cardinals meet to vote, and when they have agreed on a successor, that man is the chief representative of the Roman Church.

The appointing of a pope is actually written in the original context of the bible. In it, Jesus says to Peter that he is the Rock and "upon this Rock I will build my Church." Jesus started Christianity and appointed the Pope to be the head of the Church on Earth. Sometimes the Holy Spirit speaks through him. At these times the Pope proclaims a dogma, an infallible statement.

The Bible was writtent to control people, and to give people a sense of belief that good deeds must be done or you will be punished in the after life. The Pope is just a key figure in the world of the Roman Catholic religion that people see as the right hand man of god and they feel that he is the most knowledgeable one. I could go into detail all day, but what I would recommend is to look at the history of the pope (and anti-pope), and you will find your answers and many others.
