Yep, why don't you ask Him? Talk to him like you talk to yourself when you are alone. He might answer you, if you are really listening. Seriously, He is a friend and confidant of many people. Sure, some go to weird extremes, but you don't have to. Since you've been contrary or ignoring Him for years, it is just like an earthly friend, you may have to make up for a while. He could, but probably won't just immediately shine a light and pick you up like an old school chum and go dancing around--but it has been known to happen from time to time. Think about if your father has been hurt because you've ignored him for a long time, then you come bouncing in, plopping on his lap, and say, "Daddy, buy me a pony." It won't work with God any better. Be patient, He has been with you. Be honest with Him, he really doesn't like lies, and He already knows the truth about you, your feelings, your actions, your motivations. But He does like it when you talk to Him. Try it soon, and don't just give Him 2 or 3 minutes and think all is done. You expect more of your earthly friends and family. He expects more of you.
