I had an episode a few years ago where I had a blood clot burst in my eye. I lost some vision for about eight hours that day. During the many follow ups they decided to call what I had Viral Antiphospholipid Syndrome. Now fast forward to two days ago - I had sharp shooting pains in the back of my leg and when I woke up I had tingling and a bone deep cold. I went to urgent care and he said it might be deep vein thrombosis. I went up for an ultrasound - but they didn't except my insurance so urgent care discharged me and sent me to an ultrasound tech that would except my insurance. By the time I got there it had been over twelve hours since my symptoms started and they had began diminishing. The ultasound tech found nothing wrong. Is it possible that I had a clot in my leg and they were too late to find any evidence of it? The doc- by the way - never took any blood to test for clotting agents and now I have to wait until Tuesday for any further anything. Is that neglegent?

Yes, it is possible that you were too late to find that clot in your leg. That's one of the biggest problems with with assorted insurance companies attempting to 'doctor by committee'. As for the doctor not doing a blood test- I'm not sure that was actual negligence. But I certainly do find it questionable! Especially since you have a history of blood clots.
Get a different doctor- one that will help you with a few tests and perhaps help you keep from getting clots in the future.

don't go to an urgent care center for this, go to an ER. You WILL get treatment at an ER, whether you can afford it or not. Sometimes it's better to just worry about the bill after you get checked out. You should hvae clotting studies done, as clots can dislodge. There are other things they should check for as well, including electrolyte levels, blood sugar, and infection.
Urgent care centers aren't classified as emergency rooms, and therefore are not required to see everyone. They are not funded by hospitals and have to pay their own bills. It's basically a doctor's office that's open all day which requires no appointments, so no, it's not the doctor's negligence there. However you should go to an appropriate facility.

Maybe the Doc really dosnt want to push the idea of a blood clot due to your age, weight maybe, more than always trying to find a better root to the problem, maybe something simple or not. But always seek more than one doctors opinion just to be on the safe side.

I think it's terrible when a hospital or unguent care facility turns away people that are in need of medical attention. It's a sorry thing when they have become money obsessed when they are supposed to be humanitarian institutions designed to give care to the public and yet they don't care for anything but the money. But that is how it is - I would say yes, it was a matter of neglect and inhuman behavior.

Take yourself to the Emergency Room. They will do the right testing no matter what insurance you have. Tell them it is not better and you are worried. That's what they are there for.

could be a great number of things......
including spine issues..... out of line back, or disc will send tingling and pains down leg,,,usualy the left leg.
