I have read both Quran and Bible and must say the Bible is much more violent than the Quran regarding violence on earth. Although in Quran there is a concept of "holy war" it has some rules that war should only be fought to defend Muslims when they are attacked and that it is not allowed to kill people who have already surrendered. It does not have the concept of genocide which exists in the Bible.
On the other hand the Quran is more violent than the Bible regarding its descriptions of hell which are quite detailed there. But Christians also believe in same hell although the Bible doesn't speak this much about it.

You need to consider the context. The Old Testament was a covenant between God and a nation. We are now under a New Covenant. The Old prepared the way for the new. As for the Koran, unfortunately the belief in Jihad continues to this day. It is a nasty belief that is wreaking havoc in this world.

What do find to be crazy about the book of Joshua? I find all of the Bible to make more sense than Origin of Species. Life coming from nothing? Apes breeding anything other than more apes? That's insane!

How about Moses parting the Red Sea? The list is endless. All of the old texts have things like that in it. Allah means God, it's all the same reference.
