im making sugar cookies but im out of sugar

Hi My granddaughter made toll house cookies this Christmas and she used all white sugar. It wasn't bad, but definately not as good as with the brown sugar. Cravings.... You deserve the best... Wish I could help you more. If it were me, I would add some cocoa and make chocolate chocolate chip cookies. Use a little more sugar.

Substituting brown sugar for white sugar in a recipe will produce a baked good that is a little moister and darker with a slight butterscotch flavor.

Um maybe put a little less brown sugar than the recipie calls for normal sugar because brown sugar is thicker.

Your cookie will taste better, as far as I know, most cookie recipes call for brown sugar.

The texture changes because brown sugar is stickier than white sugar due to its molasses content.

It will enhance the flavor. I think most cookies are made with light brown sugar , i.e., chocolate chip cookies..

I think it will change the color and it will taste alot different, just run up to the store and buy some regular sugar.

It is sweeter. You want to use RAW organic sugar instead of the refined stuff that contains bleach & a host of other chemicals.

I use demarera sugar for most of my baking and jam making. I find that there is usually good flavour and people like it. Genevieve

Nothing, it will be just as sweet with brown sugar.
