why all the hatred around muslim countrys towards the pope.all he did was repeat what some emperor god knows how long ago said.so why the demonstrations and burning of effogies of the pope.i mean its not like he did something horrendoes like drawing a picture of mohammed.[yes that was sarcasm]but seriously why are you so uptight.

my question was not to upset muslims or muslim or anti christian faiths,i dont have a religion but all i see is anti pope news when all he did was to quote from a very old text.something that was said a very long time ago.i jst dont see the point in getting uptight about something that was said so long ago isnt life to short to worry about such things.muslims especially seem very over sensitive about these things.

OK first of all by repeating that quote he indirectly said what he wanted. A pope is a respected figure and cannot say something like that.Second there are a billion Muslims in this world and only 5% of them burned things and rioted.
3rdly in the current situation in which there is a lot of restlessness this comment shouldnt have been made.
Look what the assasination of the Archduke Ferdinand did. It sparked a worldwar didnt it?
So remarks like these should be made in this time. If the pope tried to spread peace it wouldve been better

Let's see.. How will you feel if you were put in the same situation? I'm sure you will press that 'outrage' button immediately. But between a Muslim and a non-Muslim of doing it will be different. While a Muslim demonstrate and burn stuff, a non-Muslim will react by saying those people who said it, 'terrorists'! Am I not right by saying these??? Just like what some famous Muslims leaders said about the other religion, all of them that I knew of are accused of being terrorist.... Just think about it and stop being prejudice towards Muslims. Learn about the truth before you say about how you feel...

It was very bad judgement by the Pope to say such things at such a sensitive time between cultures lets face it. The Pope was wrong to say such things, especially at this time. What he said is almost enticement for violence. It's crazy. They should never let him speak to the public again, he is not mentally fit! No, I'm not Muslim.

Keep in mind that Muslims know about the crusades in which Christians made war for religious reasons, the Spanish Inquisition, the killing of Indians in South America if they did not "worship" the way the Conquistadors dictated, and hundreds and hundreds of similar such cases. In point of fact, both Christianity and Islam have their "nut cases" who consider it essential to kill others--remember the nuts who bombed abortion clinics and killed doctors? The vast majority of both religions are calm, serene, peaceable, God-fearing folks. You point out the speck in the others eye while ignoring the planks in your own.

The Pope is the head of Catholic Christians . Christianity as we have been informed : is the RELIGION OF LOVE ..not Hatred !
So why he is repeating the words of that emperor , may be he is convinced of it ?!
If not why don't he encourage love and coexistance amongst religions not hatred ..
Many are considering Islam and Muslims as TERRORIST , but what about those in North Ireland ,Basque"between France & Spain" and also KKK in United States ?Are they ALL Muslims?!
Are they terrorists or freedom fighters ?!
Please answer truthfully and explain why ?!!!

The question is why did he quote that text? He wanted to say that this is his opinion and brought this quotation as a proof...And do you think this is a good time to say something like this?
Honestly we are very sensitive when talking about the Qur'an and Muhamed (pbuh) so please everyone give some respect to 1000, million Muslims' feelings in this world who feel enough injustice in their lives already.

I'm not Muslim and I know what he did was wrong. He is the Pope. He is held to a higher standard. If he would have bashed Jesus the Christians would be doing the same thing. It's just wrong.

They are overreacting, sure. But they pope didn't comment on the "evil and inhumane" part of the letter he quoted. If it wasn't going to be used as part of his point he should have either left it out or at least commented that the Church doesn't feel that way today.

Hmm.. I don't even know who the pope is and i don't give a damn what he does or not do... I don't know why people of my religion hate him so much... But they're wasting their emotions... God knows what to do and I'll say just live my own life and don't think to much of others.. Cos in the end, you're not the judge... Not the one calling the shots... We just have to live the best of life and give our best to live... The rest is unnecessary....

They lack intelligence and make up for it with violence and then say that they are peaceful and we are supposed to blindly believe it.. They can't take criticism because they are wrong. The truth always wins out over criticism .. The Bible has stood the test of time..
