yes
when you have 85% plus of the market
you pretty much have domination
yes linux base is growing
and there are alternate OS's
but key is hardware support
and since all the major ( and minor ) hardware vendors cater to the dominating OS
by default MS wins the OS wars

No. They are currently quite popular, but there are other options. MAC OS 10+ and Linux are some other options. :) There have been others and I'm sure there will be more. As soon as people stop accepting that a computer system is just prone to be unstable and demand more, we will get new more options. :)

Actually NO. As long as apple, and linux are around, they are not a MONOPOLY. They have gone to court over this issue, and have won every time.

What exactly do you mean? And as far as I know, no they do not. There is still Linux and Mac OS's out there.

According to the US courts - no. (MS can afford good lawyers)
According to the store shelves and the market share - yes.
According to the Europen Union - stay tuned - we are still seeing how good those lawyers are....
