There were several different tribes of American Indian. All across this continent. They all ate different "types" of food. Adapting to there surroundings. If they were in dry climate... They ate a lot of grains. If they were in a wetter, more fertile climate then they would eat more vegetables. The "Indians" you are probably thinking about are the Mid West Indians. The ones shown on movies. Tribes like Cheyenne, and Sioux. They were more of a dry climate tribes. They ate off the land so they ate just about anything made of corn and Buffalo.
