should i get a bloodhound and how much do most bloodhounds cost?

labs are bird dogs. beagles are great for fox, rabbit and small game. there smaller, quiker and just as good as bloodhounds.

1st. I love bloodhounds. They are great trackers, however they will not retrieve worth crap. They are the most stubborn, independent minded dogs placed on this planet. Mine was also extremely intellegent and a loyal companion. If you get a bloodhound, keep him/her on a leash. It has been my experience that when the nose hits the ground, the brain turns off. He would walk into traffic, walk into trees (smelling squirrels), wade into water (smelling ducks) and once went off a cliff (tracking a freind of mine who was rappelling.) Thus the leach to keep him alive.
