They aren't forced to be Catholic . I don't think there are a lot of other religions and Church's in Mexico . Hundreds of years ago the Catholic Church took care of people and became a very large part of the Mexican society..
Mexico is more then 90 % Catholic .
Why do you think the Church has taken the largest roll in trying to help the illegal immigration in to America?

yes, there is freedom of belief, actually the State and the church are separated constitutionally and none can influence on the other's affairs. The reason for mexico being predominantly catholic lies in its history rather than on the officla posture.
You can believe anything you want in Mexico, under the protection of the law, of course unless your belief induces you to uncivil behaviour and you incurr in illegal acts, then, just as here, you'll get the consequence.

Yes, they have the same religous freedoms as us. But like in america, most mexicans of a practicing religion are a form of christianity.
This came about by spanish missionaries centuries ago, and the fact that most mexicans have some sort of spanish decendants.
Although there are still pleanty of indians in the area who practice their native religions.

They are free to have whatever religion they choose. They recently built a baptist church in my husband's town in Mexico. I have also heard of penecostals there. If you are not catholic, though, you miss out on alot of cultural parties...like the majority of the town gets together for baptisms, saint days, christmas, easter, and weddings. If you are not Catholic you would probably not participate...imagine your neighbors all going to a big party and you are stuck at home.

"Does religous freedom unquestionably exist in our society?" It does in Australia - i'm not too particular approximately you NZers. "Do Christians have freedom to confirm on people who don't have romantic relationships with human beings of the choice intercourse as leaders of the church, or is that discrimination." while have christers ever considered what's discrimination or not? so a strategies as i'm conscious christers make their very own regulations and use any ability at their disposal to make sure the rest persons comply... plenty like the mooslims might if that they had the comparable form of skill ;) ~
