In Islam Modesty refers to being an upright and descent Person whether Man or Woman.

It is a kind of Modesty when you see a Muslim Woman wear a Hijab like this http://garageng.com/woman.htm

What do Christians relate as Modest? Being half-naked?

Ohh my God... Christians have alot of Bad Attitudes... It is hard to find a good Christian that follow the true teachings of the Bible... Most of them are out of the Path (Even in their own religion)...

What is your concern if you see a Modest Muslim Woman, since you can't even explain what is Modesty...

This is my last question for today... Bye to you all...

Live in PEACE!!!

There are parts of the bible that talk about Christian men and women wearing head covernings to be modest. Since most of these passages are found in the old testament, many "modern" Christians no longer take them seriously. When Jesus was born he brought a "New Convanant" which completely wiped away the "Old covenant" (why the Old Testament is mainly used for Historical purposes) and it isn't clearly stated within the New Testament guidelines for dressing modestly.

If you look at some of the more conservative Christian Churches and groups, you'll see a lot of modest clothing, nothing too flashy and a fairly modest lifestyle.

I would say that it's not the religion that makes "modern" Christians not dress or behave modestly but rather the society in which we live.

I live a modest lifestyle by dressing so I don't show a whole lot of clevage or showing a ton of skin. I don't cover my hair and I don't live a completely conservative lifestyle but it has nothing to do with my belief sytstem.

When it all boils down to it, I don't think that people are disciplined enough in today's society to truly follow a completely modest lifestyle.

Being covered from head to toe in a dress doesn't make you modest. Modesty is also a matter of the heart. But, you do make a point that many Muslims seem to overlook and just generalize.
There are some True Christians that do take modesty seriously, not so far as to wear a burka, but in my church, the women wear dresses with long sleeves, very little make up if any, very little jewelry if any. I have been to a lot of churches and left them because of the loose attitude of the clothes that women wear. I went to one church where the music leader was a woman dressed in a mini skirt and wearing a halter top. I never went back. But our society hates real Christianity because we call for this modesty in the movies and magazines, we are called all kinds of names and are hated. So the politicians don't listen to anything we have to say. I wish the Muslims wouldn't lump all Christians together in thinking we are all okay with this.

There is nothing wrong with this woman's dress. Christian women believe in concealing parts of the body that draw undue male attention, i.e., showing too much skin or tight revealing clothes. We do not cover from head to toe or wear head coverings for the most part. Not all women in America are Christians and many of these women do run around half-naked, and this is wrong. Some Christians do have bad attitudes and don't follow the Bible closely, but there are also some who do; every group of people has hypocrites or those weak in the faith.

I don't see the Hijab as being modest, I see it as being in hidding, hidden from the world.

I agree though that women in genral have little modesty and do tend to walk around half-naked. Much to the delight of men. As an aged hippy Ive seen it all right around the world and I'm sure a lot of women don't realise that they make themselves look like sluts and easy by the way they dress. But if the flip side of the coin is to wear a hijab then I would refuse to wear it, not even if it was seen walking down the paris catwalks in black silk laced with gold. I wear what I like, that is my choice, and choice is there because we are a civilised country, not a backward country.

Having said that, I can understand how some people disrespect those who dress like prostitutes and behave undignified rolling around the street drunk, throwing up with their knickers around their ankles. I can see how that takes womankind backwards not forwards. But we don't live in a country that sees women as possessions, though there are many countries that do, maybe you would be happier living in one, as it's obvious we are not going to change to accommodate your sensibilities.

This is what you call living in peace? Maybe your next question should be, what is hypocrisy?

Peace to you, as well. Standards of modesty change with the times. In a free-thinking society with freewill, people tend to decide for themselves what modesty means to them. Some think it is dress, others behavior, still others it's humble deeds. You really shouldn't judge good people for their dress, just honor what you believe and be more tolerant.

Hell is mistranslated and misunderstood. It merely ability that in case you pick to attempt to justify your self by ability of works and non secular habit, then circulate forward. you have loose will, and it's always a living Hell considering which you would be in torment, and not at peace in this life till you paintings this out. As for "eternal life" that's merely speaking approximately living the solid life right this moment. in case you pick to stay the solid life right this moment, merely settle for the loose present of Grace, and reject condemnation and legalism in its countless varieties. once you do away with condemnation, you adventure the peace of God. So the above question of debate is honestly scripturally ultimate in his/her assumptions. And the so stated as "Christians" are in hassle-free terms a set of self condemned devil worshipers.

Just because you see a scantily dressed girl in a western nation, you can't assume that she's a Christian. I live in the United States, where there are a lot of Christians, but not everybody here is a Christian, and it's not really a Christian nation. It might have been at one time, but I don't believe it is today.
