St Paul better known in New Testament as Apostle Paul. 13 books Romans thru Philemon writtten by Paul. Some even credit Hebrews to Apostle Paul. Paul being his gentile name and Saul his Jewish name. As Saul he persecuted Christians (even their death) using Mosiac Laws of the Temple but book of Acts describes that on his way to Dasmacus, he was converted by Christ (from Heaven). Christ selected Apostle Paul (he dropped name Saul after 14 years) to bring the Gospel (salvation) to the Gentiles. Prior only Jews had the scripture and Christ wanted the Gospel to be heard by all. Apostle Paul was Christ chosen vessel to spread that Gospel of Christianity. He was beheaded about 67 AD by Emperior Nero. Many called him St Paul (Catholics) but protestants call him Apostle Paul. But a Saint by virtue of his salvation as a true Christian believer.

apostle Saul (paul) is a pharisee....he persecute the church, sending the christians to prison..until one day Jesus christ, the assended Lord called him to be an apostle for the gentiles...to preach the "mystery of His will" and that is forgiveness and everlasting life for those who accept Jesus christ as their personal Lord and savior....the message of apostle paul is unique coz it focus more on the shed blood of Jesus Christ...that his death would bring us eternal life.."for by grace are ye saved through faith, not of yourselves,it is the gift of God,lest any man should boast...
