The common denominator across all religions is simply an acknowledgment that there is a higher force than man.

The rest is all superfluous wrapping paper that billions of people can't see beneath.

Why?

Because sadly many religions are based on a right and wrong idea. Some religions hold the belief that there is only one right way to believe and any others regardless of similarities are wrong because they are not of their faith.

The similarities are the basic harmony we share, therefore, there's no need to discuss. It's just an enjoyable experience.

However when desire and boredom creep in...

people tend to focus on the differences (or negatives as some may consider them) because they dont want to accept that deep down inside people are the same and have more similarities than they think. plus if people were to focus only on the similarities then there wouldnt be much hate in the world and bush wouldnt be the president!!!

Well, let's imagine that every human looks exactly the same: more than 6 billions of clones, same age, same culture.

Imagine those 6 billions of clones believe in very similar things.

What would they talk about? They would talk about their little differences, of course. Otherwise, they would be numb.

Only fanatics talk about their similarities with one another.

Broad-minded persons talk about their differences with one another.

I suppose that according to Christians, noone disagrees with anyone in "heaven"...

Personally, I need to be contradicted in my beliefs so that I can keep on evolving.
