There would be no point in existing. If we have no belief in a God or gods or any kind of supernatural being that provides us with a reason to do good or bad, then why would we bother? If there is no God, then there can be no afterlife. If we are a cosmic accident, then where is our value? If we have no value, then what is our purpose?

However, every (reasonably sane) person has some idea of right and wrong. Senseless killing is wrong for everyone; to some it may become a justified action, but the action needs purpose and a just cause.

Why would all of humanity have the same right and wrong (we all do no matter what some people claim; semantics play a part)? Pretending for a moment that not everyone had the same morality, everyone would still know a good from a bad based on their scale, and would know that bad is wrong and therefore seek the good. If there was no point to doing good actions, then why would we feel the need to do so?

Your question poses a false premise, since it presumes the truth of: gods exist = true

All things considered, it is most likely that there ARE NO gods... in which case the world would not necessarily change at all. I think that a much more meaningful question would be "How would the world change if everybody were to become aware that no gods exist?" That would be a very scary proposition, because there would suddenly be 1.2 billion Christians running around without a moral compass... and from what I have read here in Y!A, that means that very few of them would know how to behave. They woud have lost their sole source of reasons not to steal, assault, rape, kill, etc. Atheists know that ethical behavior and morality are evolved traits of humanity... Christians have been deluded into thinking that they must be moral because god has told them to be, and if they disobey god they will go to hell. Take that away, and it's "Katie, bar the door."

There wouldn't be a change. Many gods are worshiped and none have been proven to exist, so people would still believe in whatever god/gods/goddesses they currently believe in. Or are you asking what would change if some how it was proven that no gods existed?

How do you know God exists in reality as we know it? I think your question should be: how would the world be if there was no such thing as a belief in God? And I have to say, I think it would probably be a lot more peaceful than it is now.

There would be absolutely no change in the World.

Still billions of believers & unbelievers, still more and more religions, no worse planetary situation.

Well: absolutely no change.

If God did not exist, I wouldn't be here to read your question, and you wouldn't be here to ask it.
