I have no idea what some people are trying to say! Why can't we all stick to regular English? Why do I feel like I'm the only person who checks my entries???
Legible answers only please!

Obviously I know that not everyone on this site speaks fluent English!
I'm talking about the people who use slang and strange abreviations that make some sentences hard to understand, especially if you don't talk the same way. I'm from Newcastle but I don't use any Geordie slang, therefore my entries are legible to all.
I apologise for saying 'like' instead of 'as though'. That probably is a northern influence but I still didn't care for the rude way it was put forward. Also, the last time I checked, the Queen spoke the same language as me; 'regular' english.

Modpac saying "Because they have nothing better to do in there lifes." illustrates the complaint perfectly - 'there' instead of 'their', 'lifes' instead of 'lives'.................I wish I could believe that he had answered like this ironically, but sadly, I think not!

I understand what you mean. Sometimes I want to reply with "I'd really love to answer your question, but your grammar and spelling are so atrocious that I don't even know what it was that you asked." I know some people on Yahoo Answers may not be native English speakers and therefore have difficulty with the language. However, I believe most of it is just laziness and ignorance.

Well, dear, it's a sign of the times and the world we live in, now.
I've spoken with employers of young people who say they can't add or subtract at all. If the power goes down and the cash register or calculator goes off, they just stand there helplessly. These are 18 and 19 year olds.
It's a strange world, and I see no way to stop it.

Hate to be picky, but you should never start a sentence with 'because',and if we're using the Queen's English,so to speak, you wouldn't say 'regular' English.
Maybe somebody should come up with a 'grammar checker' as well?

Surely you realise that this site is not specifically for English speaking people!! Many of the questions are asked by learners of English and, considering this, I think they do very well.
Your own statement "feel like" is not correct, anyway. It should be feel as though"".

sometimes im in a hurry and i think as long as its readable, you lot wont mind, obviously i was wrong. although it is annoying when the whole question just doesnt make sense, but their english might not be too good, think you should give people the benefit of the doubt.

Some people are lazy
Some are incapable
Some are trying to type too quickly
Some people have different ways of saying the same thing
That about covers it.
