For sure, our ideas will clash because of differences in backgrounds, culture, religion, upbringing, schools...So please...just answer the question, period. Don't tell me i'm wrong (even if i am, with your education or experience as bases) because you dont know the absolute truth to tell me i'm wrong. if i am wrong, don't tell me that. tell someone else. sorry ok. i'm having a bad day. i just want answers, no objections. peace ok? gosh. i do have a temper.

the problem with having an image in our heads is, when we finally see him, boy are we going to be wrong!! our imaginations are so small. but maybe this will help: In Isa. 40:

Here is what I am attempting with you:
vs. 1. Comfort, comfort my people,
says your God. 2 Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her hard service has been completed, that her sin has been paid for, that she has received from the LORD's hand double for all her sins.

now let me skip down a few lines and show you God: 12 WHO HAS MEASURED THE WATERS IN THE HOLLOW OF HIS HAND, (thats a lot of water in the hollow of his hand)
OR WITH THE BREADTH OF HIS HAND MARKED OFF THE HEAVENS? (scientists at NASA have stated that the heavens are so vast that it is impossible to measure, yet God has marked it off with the distance between his pinky finger and his thumb, is that cool or what)?
WHO HAS HELD THE DUST OF THE EARTH IN A BASKET,
OR WEIGHED THE MOUNTAINS ON THE SCALES AND THE HILLS IN A BALANCE? are you starting to get the picture? lets move on!!

13 Who has understood the mind [d] of the LORD,
or instructed him as his counselor?

14 Whom did the LORD consult to enlighten him,
and who taught him the right way?
Who was it that taught him knowledge
or showed him the path of understanding?

15 Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket;
they are regarded as dust on the scales;
he weighs the islands as though they were fine dust.

16 Lebanon is not sufficient for altar fires,
nor its animals enough for burnt offerings.

17 Before him all the nations are as nothing;
they are regarded by him as worthless
and less than nothing.

18 To whom, then, will you compare God?
What image will you compare him to?

Is there any doubt that we have a Big God? now, let me show you another little thing about this big God!!!

11 He tends his flock like a shepherd:
HE GATHERS THE LAMBS IN HIS ARMS AND CARRIES THEM CLOSE TO HIS HEART; HE GENTLY LEADS THOSE THAT HAVE YOUNG.

See; here is the beautifull part as I see it, God is massive, to say the least, even the Nations are regarded as less than nothing. But the individual?: he is not so big that he can't pick them up, hold him close to his heart, and comfort them, to GENTLY lead those who have young. how can you put a picture on that? I don't know, but what I do hope is that you can feel the love.

Grace

I'm a Muslim and I'll try to answer your question, God willing.

Islam says that God is One, there is none like Him, none whatsoever. He is the Ultimate Being, he neither sleeps nor does gets tired. If he wishes anything, He merely commands "Be!", and it becomes. He is the God of the worlds, the Owner of the Judgment Day, the Owner of the planets, the stars, the sun, the moon, the Earth and each and every human. He is the Creator, and He is the Sustainer.

God is unlike any of His creations. We cannot compare God with anything that we have seen, are seeing, or will see.

We know that before the Big Bang, time hasn't started yet. Right? "At a point in time, there is no time." Rationally, that sentence does not make sense. It shows that our brain has a limit, because we were created so. Haven't you heard of the prophecies in the Torah, in the Bible, and in the Quran? And didn't these prophecies have come true? What does this mean? My point is:

The law of time does not apply to God.

If He is not ruled by time, then how can He NOT know what have happened and what will happen? All are within His knowledge, for He is the All-Knowing.

Which brings us to my final point:

If God is not ruled by time, how can you get a still picture of Him?

You can't.

That is why Islam and early Christianity don't draw or make statues of Him, because it would certainly be a false portrayal of God.

Peace y'all!

Jesus is not God - he is the Son of God
Two separate people

JOHN 14:28 - one is greater than the other

JOHN 1:18 - no man has seen God AT ANY TIME
(many saw Jesus)

Also, if Jesus is God and he died for us - who resurrected him?
If you say God resurrected him - then he couldn't have died
He couldn't have resurrected himself

Two separate people

God is spirit (wind).

Jesus is a Jew who taught other Jews (hence the term Rabbi).

If you have really see Jesus, then you have seen him in his resurrected state. There are those that didn't recognize his.

But Jesus' words are far more important. See Matthew 18:10.

As a Christian, I believe that Jesus is God. What He looks like, I don't know. I'll find out soon enough. I don't think you should concern yourself with His physical appearance; just work on getting to know Him, and the best way to do that is to read the Bible.

John 14:9, "Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?"

Jesus is God "in the flesh."

Jesus is a prophet. I don't think us humans can even imagine what God looks like.

In my faith, I have many Gods and Goddesses, and the only ones I've been able to picture is Pan and Gaia. Both considered the 'Mother' and 'Father' of nature.
