My BOYfriend is 19,lives on an island, droped out of school at 14 and works in a coffeeshop on weekdays and a bar on weekends. I am 24 and work at my aunt s jewellery shop on the same island in summers since i graduated college.i m on this island and wanna stay for him.When we started dating everything was great despite the age difference and education.he s great,smart and loving. Now two months after everyone seems to be against us and say we re not right for eachother, he started acting weird and leave for few days to go hunting on the mountain(its hunting season here on the island)on his free time and change our plans. when i confronted him he said he was just testing me to see if i really love him. after that we spent time together but now he ll go hunting again and leave me for the 2 days he took off work. he s afraid im palying with him but so am i. at least i show i wanna spend time with him.the one minute i think he loves me and the next im having doubts.what should i do?

You're having a testy time in the relationship, he takes two days off work, and he goes hunting instead of spending time with you? Girl, you're not playing with him. He's playing with you.
If you stick with him over the long term, this will be a continued pattern. You shouldn't have to live with it, so don't. Move on, find someone else.

Seems like there is some serious talking needs to take place. The next time I get a chance to spend time with him, It would be straight about us. You have to lay the rules down, put ur foot down, let him know how u feel, come out with all this be real with him, if thats who u want to be with oh well, than do so. You'll learn from ur mistakes. U know what, ask him one day can u go hunting with him and see what he says! Even if u don't like hunting. Try him out!

For someone who graduated from college, sweetie, you sure don't have any brains. This guy is using you!!! What is the matter with you???? He is playing you for a fool!!! He is a total "LOOSER". That is really cool, dropping out of sschool at age 14.....DUH!!!! You sure have a funny definition of what "Love" is. Get used to it, if you stay with this asshole, this will be as good as it gets. Wise up and move on. You need to go to a counselor since you apepar to have very low self-esteem if you can actually believe that this is best you can do! If you stay with the looser, shut the hell up and stop complaining.....this is the way it is and you have chosen to accept it.

One day when you get old you want your mate to be also a person who can intellectually satisfy you (conversations and such). I believe equality in education is important for a successful relationship, but not as important as commitment.
One Rule you should have: never test love...
I think you should find a man who can value you and sacrifice everything for you...

He's just 19. Boys are already more immature than girls their own age and you have 6 years on him. What did you expect? He's uneducated and acting like a child. He's a boy. He needs to grow up.

my friend has been datin this guy 4 almost 1 yr n a half... no1 thinks they r rite 4 each other... i have tried 2 get her 2 dump him 4 a yr.
She says she luvs him 2 much... but he could care less if he was datin her or not..
ok... also... guys dont grow up till they r like.. a dad....even then they dont act like a grown up, but u shouldnt date sum1 that much younger than u... look around.. dont wait on him 2 grow up

I am the father of a 19 year old girl.My advice is to dump the bum.In my opinion, i do not think a 19 year old don't know what love is anyway.
