I practiced Wicca for many years but no longer do so. I think there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. But I do with the concept of conversion to anything. Conversion is a form of arm twisting that limits one free will in making a clear unbiased choice for themselves. It is one thing to answer questions and direct one to further information for self-study, it is another to recruit.
The only way one should come to their beliefs is through self-realization.

I believe you will find if you are really seeking that Wicca and Paganism is primarily made up of people who are anti Christian. If you think I'm kidding go to any gathering and listen to the people. You will hear all sorts of beliefs and people will embrace them all. This includes Satanist. Or Church of Set etc.etc. Now... Tell them your Deity is Jesus and watch what happens. You might even get in a physical fight if threre's been a bit of drinking or whatever. You will be met with harsh resistance for trying to convert anyone because it is considered a "Xian practice". There is one exception. The Voo Doo people and Dianic Wiccans who appear to consider themselves to be above all beliefs of any kind. So Have fun but be careful.
GOD bless

you should ask each and every man or woman man or woman who switched over. i don't think of there are common solutions concerning faith. i understand countless Pagans who grew up in Christian households who merely under no circumstances felt precise with it. Me, i have continually felt a deep connection to Divinity even if i'm sitting in a church or in an o.ok.grove, yet i love how being Pagan enables me to journey Deity right away and under no circumstances with the help of a few different person (priest, minister, rabbi etc). I left the Christian church at 14 because the folk interior the church round me were so judgmental and hypocritical. Dr. ZoomZoom, I say this with love and the desire that this statement is sensible: you're an fool. no longer one ingredient you assert is remotely non secular. Why no longer concentration on love and respect and honor, quite than hate and prejudice and lies? with any success no man or woman is affirming that Wiccans were round longer than Gardner - I consider you there. Witches and Pagans even if were round because the first light of time, and the point about Easter eggs is that Pagan (pre-Christian) cultures which include the historic Saxons recognised the egg as an emblem of the germinating life of early spring. pass examine your heritage books. and then pass concentration on your spirituality, and depart me on my own to spotlight mine.

Because proselytizing is not right. People should be allowed to make up their own minds what to have faith in, what to believe and not to believe. They should not be forced by anyone else's beliefs or dogma. You can provide information about Paganism and Wicca to educate, certainly, but don't go around trying to tell people believe this way or else.

Becasue they do it enough already, so they really don't need your help. They advertise in magazines, like the classified section of the National Enquierer, astrology magazines, etc, about Wicca schools (this is recruiting). They have thousands of webpages on the internet advertising their religion and advice for "begginers"(recruiting). There are online stores selling fake magic items and how-to books. Books have ideas, and ideas change people's minds (recruiting) If you go to Barmes and Noble or Books a Million theres a whole section of Wiccan books for sale. For a secret religion, it's far from secret!
And before anyone says none of this is recruiting, contrast it with Zoroastrianism. The only way to join is to be born into it, and they don't take converts. They don't recruit. Likewise, Amish people don't have ads in magazines that say "LEARN HOW TO BE AMISH BY MAIL" They don't recruit.
When I would go out to nightclubs, I'd see girls with pentagrams the size of dinner plates, just waiting for someone to ask them about their religion. Plenty of them recruit already. If nobody recruited, I wouldn't have to be the counterpoint to these questions!
I love Wiccans, even though my views aren't always popular.

In the wicca practice you don't try to convert, you just let it happen on its own. But to answer your question, go for it. ( And bigez is one of those that will burn in hell for judging another, he is to stupid to realize it

Because it is wrong to convert people who don't want to. I am a Wiccan Witch and would never try to convert people. They have to choose whatever faith suits them. It is not for us to decide.

What? Are you going to bewitch them? Drug them? Force them in any way? No?
All right! Go to it! Knock yourself out! Have fun! Get jiggly with it!
You have every right to convince others of your views if you can do it without violating their basic human rights.
People who say they want freedom from pagan/wiccan beliefs are just closed minded and are seeking to violate my basic human rights to hear new ideas.
As much as I may disagree with you, you have every right to speak your mind.
