PKD (polycystic kidney disease) is a genetic disease which causes cysts to form on the kidneys. Eventually they grow and multiply to the point where they cause the kidney to shut down.

Polycystic kidney disease (PKD) is a genetic disorder characterized by the growth of numerous cysts in the kidneys. The cysts are filled with fluid. PKD cysts can slowly replace much of the mass of the kidneys, reducing kidney function and leading to kidney failure.

I have that too. Doc isn't worried about it but recommends routine checks.

I recently did have a block in one kidney by a stone. Had to be dissolved.
Don't know that it was related.
