What about powdered or liquid tempera paint? You can buy it in large or small quantities, & an art supply store would probably have it or can get it for you. You could also check Online.

Below is a place I found Online that has tempera paint at a fairly reasonable price, & it is washable, which means it would wash off of anything you put it on!

Hope this helps!.

Any paint (except some artists paints like tempura or watercolors) will stick and dry onto the grass permanently. Wet latex will rinse off, but not completely and it's never good to rinse that stuff (surfactants, emulsifiers, preservatives, carrying and drying agents) into the ground where it will eventually reach the ground water or affect the vegetation.

Use drop cloths, plastic, backdrops. Wash tools in the sink (for latex and other water-clean up), not on the ground.

I don't think so, if you want it to stay on the walls then it had better be water resistant. why don't you just use masking tape for the edge to prevent the paint from going too far. and also, you can buy big plastic "dropcloths" in any hardware store. get the ones that are 1 mil thickness at least -- the others are junk. they are pretty cheap and cheaper still if you buy a big pack of them. put them over the grass and then paint to your heart's content
