At the airport, everyone kept coming up to me and asking for a quarter. People just don't do that in Australia!

They're called 'panhandlers'. It's how they make their living. They're too lazy to get a real job. Believe it or not, some of them make good money at it. They plague every airport, train station and bus depot, in every major city in the USA. In some places it's even illegal. Don't give them anything. There are real jobs they could do if they weren't so lazy.

LA is in dire straights.. .. meaning it Is a city that is bankrupt. The illegals from Mexico have destroyed the economy there and NOW the Mayor and City council are all Mexicans and they control the money coming into the city so.. LA should be an example to other stupid Americans as to just how this country is going to go if John McCain and others have their way

Sometimes I feel bad for these people, then again I have seen some that are just plain scamming. Complain to the airport to not allow this to go on.

Cause they lazy butts need a job or just pretending that they need money. You'd be surprised at how many of those folks get into luxury cars after a day of begging.
The best way to get rid of those funguses is to tell them your problems. As soon as they walk up to you say "Can I get a dollar? I need it for my light bill!" they'd walk away so fast it will make your head spin.

It's a scam. Anybody who goes out of their way to ask people for money for no reason are scammers or just too plain lazy to go out and earn a living.
